Bill Gates Praised Anti-Polio Campaign in KPK

The Microsoft Co-founder and Chairman of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Bill Gates praised the drastic Anti-Polio Campaign in the KPK province.  Gates called Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and appreciated the provincial government’s dedication to eliminate the menace of Polio from KPK.

While praising the anti-polio campaign in KPK, Gates stated that the program is a light in the dark clouds and hope in the combat against the serious disease. Gates appreciated the part of the Pakistan Army on their efforts of making the campaign safe for the polio teams in far-flung areas of the province. He also offered his condolences over last year’s Army Public School attack.

Sehat Ka Ittehad is the official name of the ongoing Anti-Polio campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This campaign offers hope to province and a better future to the new generation

Imran Khan stated that removal of polio is very important for the healthy future of Pakistan. He stated to Gates that PTI included the government in the campaign despite of the problems because the Anti-Polio cause is much more important.

Unfortunately, some Pakistanis are against vaccinations because they believe these vaccinations are part of a Western plot to sterilize children, which is not true.

The Federal Government conducts Anti-Polio national campaign every month to eradicate Polio. However, data from the first campaign of the year shows that approximately 60,000 children had been missed due to the negligence and ignorance of their parents.
