Information Technology Ministry of Pakistan Exhibits at MWC
Pakistan Software Export Board has represented Pakistan with leading mobile app companies of Pakistan at Barcelona Mobile World Congress. Mobile World Congress is the biggest telecom event of the year that took place in Barcelona (March 2nd to 5th). PSEB, which is an apex body of Ministry of Information Technology, presented our country in “Pakistan Pavilion” where leading Pakistani mobile app companies exhibited their applications.
Spectrum for Mobile Broadband Award 2015
Mobile Broadband, Pakistan was awarded “Spectrum for Mobile Broadband Award 2015 “at the prestigious Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona.
Anusha Rehman said while accepting the award:
“The award of GSMA Spectrum for Mobile Broadband Award for 2015 to Pakistan is an indication of the global community reposing its trust in the Telecommunication Sector policy practices of the Government of Pakistan”
Anusha Rehman highlighted that 98% of Pakistani population is still to be connected with broadband services that indicates an enormous opportunity for the international telecom companies to invest in broadband services in Pakistan with a surety of decent returns.
Anusha Rehman also emphasized that presence of 60% youth in population demography of Pakistan makes certain the business case of broadband services for aspirant companies.
Easypaisa Bagged Two awards
Telenor’s Easypaisa won “Best NFC/Mobile Money Product” and “Best Mobile Product for Women in Emerging Markets” at the 19th Annual GSMA Global Mobile Awards 2014 held during Mobile World Congress.

“It has been a milestone year for Easypaisa, marked by exponential growth, product innovation and industry accolades, culminating in this great honor.”
Easypaisa is serving the unbanked segments of our population in the formal financial flow. It was a milestone and inspiration for other mobile operating companies in Pakistan.
MWC is a positive step for bringing investors in the booming telecom sector of Pakistan. For the first time in the history of MWC, a Pakistani Pavilion facilitated and setup by the Government of Pakistan.
